The setup sounds immense, should ride like a dream and be tough as hell. Should be really low maintenance too, which is always a bonus (anything that increases worry free ride time). The half link chains look really tidy, cant wait to see this all come together. Hopefully once i have the next few weeks of exams out of the way I will be able to get out on the bike again. btw the helmets look swish, have been looking at the fox ones myself.

Meh, it's alright over here. I've jst been working a lot so I haven't had time to be on PB much. I'm hopeing I can get some riding n in the next few days, but we'll see how that works out.

I only needed a single chain. With my chainstays at 14 5/8", 33/16 gearing, I still had 7" of chain left over. I got mine from Albes, it was the same price as Dan's.

Man that sucks!..Ah well, it will be worth the wait once shes all up and running. Yeah the DMR kit is really nice, good value and great performance. Could always try the web and see what deliver yestimates are for the stuff. Got kinda lucky as my local bike shop does trek bikes and DMR parts.....hence why I ended up with the jack 2, lol. Havent been riding much either....need to sort out a new chain at the very least as well before getting back into it. always the way.

Good commitment there! Its paid off though, that tensioner runs real neat and tucked in under the chainstay.

Actually they were kind of always together. They have shared engineering as long as GF has been around but it was a few years before they actually combined financially. GF has always been engineered by Trek.

That sounds about right. You're probably going to regret it next summer when you do have time to ride it, but life takes mistakes. Personally, I'd hang on to it and see what happens, but if the wife says it's going, it usually ends up going.

Sweet. I'm just waiting for Stowe to realize how much money they are loseing by not having trails. Once they realize that, Stowe will have trails (on the mountain, we have XC/AM stuff...lots of it) open in about 2 months.

I'm pretty sure I'll buy another stock bike at one point. Not because I want to, but because building one up is more expensive to get the same or better quality. I'm saving for my dream DH build, but it's a ways out for now.

Yeah, the amount of idiots on here is amazing. At least there are a few people who are smart enough to get the retards to shut up.

That reminds me of one of my favorite sayings: Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experiance.

Hey, not much. How's it going? Still have a lot of snow in VT?

PedalUpBombDown wrote
April 9, 2008 at 20:01
Yeah, I live close enough to the trails that I can just ride to them and home from them. Also, driving a car with no room for a bike and no bike rack kind of limits my mud covering to driving potential. This summer I'll get a bike rack though...or see if I can take my dad's truck. I hate driving his truck though. It's way to big, slow, and unresponsive for me.

PedalUpBombDown wrote
April 9, 2008 at 18:41
Yeah, we stil have a good 2 feet of snow in most places. Once that melts, then we'll get mud for about another month. Then it dries out mostly and I can ride at full speed.

PedalUpBombDown wrote
April 9, 2008 at 18:25
Yes I did and it was awsome. I got about half way over the snow bank into the trail and had to hike from there. The way back down was so much fun though. I had a line that was hard enough to ride on that was about a foot wide. If you went off to either side, you sank in enough to stop you...fast. I lost count of how many times I had to bail. There was one time I went off to the left, my front wheel sank so deep. The snow was almost to the seal on my fork. I got off the bike and looked at it like, "Huh, shouldn't a 2 wheeled thing fall over when you get off of it?"
